MACK #77: UFOs

Greetings people of earth! Today we bring you an episode all about UFOs!

If you weren’t aware, the Pentagon recently released three videos accompanied by the following statement:

The Department of Defense has authorized the release of three unclassified Navy videos, one taken in November 2004 and the other two in January 2015, which have been circulating in the public domain after unauthorized releases in 2007 and 2017. The U.S. Navy previously acknowledged that these videos circulating in the public domain were indeed Navy videos. After a thorough review, the department has determined that the authorized release of these unclassified videos does not reveal any sensitive capabilities or systems, and does not impinge on any subsequent investigations of military air space incursions by unidentified aerial phenomena. DOD is releasing the videos in order to clear up any misconceptions by the public on whether or not the footage that has been circulating was real, or whether or not there is more to the videos. The aerial phenomena observed in the videos remain characterized as “unidentified.” The released videos can be found at the Naval Air Systems Command FOIA Reading Room: https://www.navair.navy.mil/foia/documents.

Personally I think this is huge news. The DoD, in my opinion, could have easily dismissed these videos a few years ago and claimed they showed drones or even that they were all part of some sort of military training exercise. But nope. Here we are.

MACK #76: Richard Jewell

Richard Jewell.

If you are over a certain age there’s no way you don’t remember the bombing of the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

That night’s celebratory festivities ended with a concert performed by Jack Mack and the Heart Attack. [Here’s the actual recording of that night, with the band singing their song and then the bomb going off] Jewell found the backpack that contained three pipe bombs and alerted all the right people. He then helped to try to move the crowd away from the area, most likely saving lives that night.

By the next day he was the media darling being hailed as hero by the MSM, fielding interview offers and even a possible book deal.

And then, just as quickly as he had become the hero of the hour, Richard Jewell became the biggest villain in the country.

Dave’s Reaction: John Martyn — Dreams By The Sea

Our favorite comedy writer, @wiggybloogy on twitter, recommended this song for Dave.

Dave had never heard of the song nor the artist before, but somehow he managed to figure out two pretty distinct traits about John Martyn just by listening for 3 and a half minutes. I was especially impressed with one of them! Dave has some sort of music listening/deciphering gene that I am completely devoid of.

MACK #75: Dave On Disco Songs That Don’t Suck

Hellooo my disco loving and/or hating friends!

This week I asked Dave if he could come up with ten disco songs that didn’t suck. When he said “Yes!” too quickly I should have realized that something was wrong.

But I didn’t so here we are.

There is a fine line between disco and funk. And, for the most part, the songs Dave picked don’t suck because they are funk tunes. Also he starts his song countdown at 10 but realizes he only came to the table with five. Oh Dave.

MACK #74: Watch Along! Night Of The Living Dead

Awwww shit it’s a watch along! It’s been a little while since we did one of these.

If you’ve not had the pleasure of partaking in a watch along before I’ll fill you in just a bit.

Imagine, if you will, you have invited Dave and I to your house to watch a movie. And then, much to your chagrin, we talk loudly over it, ruining the experience for you and pretty much guaranteeing you’ll never invite us over to watch a movie with you again!

That’s pretty much it!

This week we talk over George A Romero’s classic Night of the Living Dead!

Dave’s Reaction: Humble Pie – Think

It’s time for another Dave’s Reaction video! Everyone’s favorite comedy writer, @wiggybloogy on twitter, sent this song our way!

Apparently this Humble Pie cover of James Brown’s Think! was only recently unearthed. It had been originally scrapped for being too funky.

In this video Dave tells us what he think!s and what he finds to be the most interesting part about this song.

Thanks for hipping us to this one ML!

MACK: Sunshine & Daydreams Playlist

Hi folks, I hope this post finds you well, hunkered down and safe from coronavirus.

I put together a little playlist, just about an hour long, of songs that are fun, or uplifting.

If you and your family need a break from bad news and just want to think about something else for a while, then this playlist is for you.

Clean the house, hit the treadmill, have a dance party. Whatever it takes. Whatever is best.

We are thinking of you all and will be coming out with a new episode on time or close to schedule.

Be well, friends.

XOXOXO

Shecky
